patufet (PAH-TOO-FET, you say the “t!”)

patufet is a cafe/bar in SE Portland — inspired by barcelona’s BAR culture, we aim to be the spot you can rely on for tasty and interesting wine, all kinds of vermut (vermouth) on ice, locally roasted espresso, creative cakes and baked goods, and tasty small plates made with curiosity and comfort at the fore.

patufet (the name) comes from a catalan fairy tale about a boy the size of a garbanzo bean! he has to sing so you don’t step on him!

who we are: maddie and chris! we’ve both worked in the food service industry for years and years… collecting things we love about service, cooking, baking, amaros, wines, etc etc etc….
the dream for maddie was always to create a space in which people felt welcome and comfortable, where they also knew that anything they order would be fun, interesting, tasty, and rewarding.
we’re interested in a sense of play and wonder, providing really excellent service, and having a glass of vermouth with a fat slice of cake.
